Re: vegetarians or vegans of fs?

I've been vegetarian for about a decade, and for me, I straight one day stopped eating meat. Worked fine for me, actually, I felt healthier than ever. Still, it's important to listen to your body. If you jump straight into it, just be sure you're getting protein - nuts and beans are your friend. I don't recommend jumping straight into vegan, because at least as a vegetarian, you can eat eggs. Which is not too bad, imo - instead of a hamburger, have an egg sandwich! Though it certainly doesn't hurt to take a multivitamin every day, at least for the transition weeks.

In my experience, as long as you get that protein (which can easily come from non-meat sources), vegetarianism is really not that hard. Veganism on the other hand is more of a commitment, and you need to plan your meals very carefully, and be smart about covering all your nutrients.

And personally, I rather like most of the "fake meat" sold. Spicy black bean burgers > real hamburgers, imo. I always have veggie patties, or even "fake chicken" in my freezer. But that stuff isn't for everyone.

I love turkey bacon. I just never expected it to taste like bacon bacon so the disappointment never hit.

Oh man, I'm not even a vegetarian and sometimes I get hella cravings for MorningStar Chik'n Nuggets. Like, I know they're not better for you in any way, but they're so good.
