do you consider yourself in fandom?

Nope, and haven't been for live five years. Fandom!secrets is my only "fandom" outlet. lol

I blame the death of Livejournal.

I consider myself a huge-ass nerd

Any more resolution than that I don't worry about

In that I'm constantly bitter about media I nevertheless continue to consume as much as possible... yes.

Re: do you consider yourself in fandom?

not really

tbh i'm kinda fed up with fandom/nerds on the whole. i used to pretty active in fandom, but got annoyed with a lot of shit and quitely disappeared. i mean i frequently post on fandomsecrets and follow my nerd stuff regularly, but i don't really interact with other fans or do anything particularly fannish anymore. and all of my activity is anon.

i still draw fanart but don't share it online though

Passively yes. The only thing I really do in fandom is create gifs and consume fanfic.

Re: do you consider yourself in fandom?

(Anonymous) 2015-04-03 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes because I am still in fannish circles.

Am I active in any particular fandom, no. I lurk.

Re: do you consider yourself in fandom?

I still write fanfic regularly, although I'm kind of between fandoms at the minute, at least in the sense of keeping up with a current canon and writing fic about it at the same time. Mostly I'm writing for older or incidental fandoms right now. This happens to me every couple of years or so.

So, yes, I consider myself still in fandom.

I'm still running a fic group, but I'm not doing anything to actively promote it. I'm not currently writing fic, either, although I'm hoping to change that soon. I guess I'm at the tail end of a hiatus from fandom.

Usually I'm a little quiet but yeah.

Re: do you consider yourself in fandom?

No.

I do roleplay and cosplay, but that's not "in fandom" to me.

I was in fandom once. Star Wars. I wrote and read fic both, voraciously, I meta'd for hours on forums, I collected art and actor photos, I kept up on movie rumor news. That was "being in fandom."

I don't do any of that anymore. I may save down the occasional nice fanart I get linked to by my RP partner, but that's about it.

Nah. I don't think I've actually been in fandom in any real way since before 9/11.

Yes, because in my heart I'll always be a fan and I'll always seek out other fans.

Not really? The most I ever do re: fandom is discuss things with friends. I don't write fanfic, don't participate in fandom wide discussions, etc. The only 'fandom' I'd call myself a part of is very small and for a fanfic.

Eh, not really? I read (and rarel write) fic, and actively look for fanart, but i'm not really part of any fan communities.

Not anymore. I consume media that has a fandom and occasionally discuss it with people (mostly people I know IRL, or here).

Kind of. I felt a lot more connected to Harry Potter, ATLA, and Doctor Who fandom several years back than anything now. I'm writing more fic now though, so that's awesome.

Yes, though I'm rather disgusted with most people in my current fandom (Top Gear cf. Jeremy Clarkson and his fans as to why I'm disgusted). I run a tfln tumblr for TG as well as one for a brotp/otp (I can see it both ways and yes, I do rpf).

But as far as fictional shows? I'm not into those the same way I was on LJ. I write fic but there's no where to really belong for most shows. But I still read and write fic and read other people's meta/comments on tumblr.... I think I'll always be fannish to some degree but am not really IN any other fandoms than TG at the moment.

I do, though I guess my definition is different from other people's.

To me if you read or write fanfic, draw or look at fanart, make graphics or gifs, seek out like-minded fans to engage in discussion or do any sort of regular activity that relates to fandom (even if that activity is just following posts on a message board, or obsessively following a tumblr tag, etc) then I feel like that's being in fandom. Maybe not always actively in fandom, but even if you don't necessarily contribute, as long as you spend your time in the community enjoying what's on offer I feel like you belong in some way.

Sort of. I interact with some things and when I get inspired to post artwork, sure, but it doesn't feel the same like it used to.

A little, I tend to flitter around the edges more than anything but I draw art sometimes and very occasionally write fic.

Re: do you consider yourself in fandom?

[personal profile] herpymcderp 2015-04-04 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Eh. In a very minor sense. I still write fic but I don't actually know more than two or three people who even care about my major fandoms anymore. And everyone else I've met I don't really care to talk to about fandom stuff.

I consider "fandom" a hobby only in a really broad sense, i.e. I enjoy fannish things. I don't really participate in fandom actively right now though. I consume lots of nerdy media, and sometimes I talk about it or view art or read fic (or occasionally write amateur fic myself, if the mood strikes). But that's about it. Unless F!S counts, which I guess it kinda does. It's a small involvement.

Sort of? I still write fic every once in a while and I RP with a couple of people and people will send me nice messages on Tumblr about my fic on AO3.
