Are there fandoms that directly reference Sea Shepherd or have them in the canons? I assumed it was about one that did. I can't name any off the top of my head, but gave the benefit of the doubt. Should I not have?

(Take it to comments is a section for secrets that are direct replies to past secrets. This one is potentially not fandom, though.)

Sea Shepherd are a bunch of "activists" that actively try to sink whaling ships. They are controversial. Very controversial. They are not a fandom (although legally speaking, they are pirates, and assholes).

#8 Can be summed up as "I used to like you until I found you were [political or religious affiliation of choice]. Take out Sea Shepherd and replace it with Scientology, it'd be the same wank starting intent.

yeah, this. Reading it again, it seems like the fic OP read is completely separate, she just didn't like that she found out the author supported SS (which is not fandom... well, they do have a TV show, iirc, at least their stuff is filmed, so maybe that does count as a fandom, but I doubt the fic was from the SS fandom, if such a thing exists)
