Yeah it took me nearly that long to reach that point. Unfortunately that means I end up consistently voting Democrat because Republicans cannot be trusted.

Me in 2015: I wanna vote for socialists, but I'll vote for Democrats because the Republicans are scary and the Democrats are the lesser of two evils

In state elections, I vote for the most liberal person I can that I think will win. For federal elections, though, I give my vote to who I think has a chance of winning. Because the idea of another Republican president genuinely scares me.

Not sure if I'll live in MA for much longer since there aren't any jobs here.

Right, but again, voting for a third party has no effect on the chances of another Republican president. If Mass goes R, the Democrats are fucked in so many ways beyond your vote even slightly mattering.
