Well, without details, it's really difficult to offer any advice. I will say that in general, when people say they can't change X, they're rarely a good judge of what they can and cannot change and how much control they have over the situation. Lots of people say they can't change when it fact, yes, they can, but it would be really hard and require lots of time and effort.

I'm not saying that's the case for you, but there's no way for us to know that without specifics. You might be fooling yourself though, and wouldn't it better to find out for sure?
