Re: Complain about politics thread
(Anonymous) 2015-04-04 01:07 am (UTC)(link)Also, I agree about political coronations being bad, but it's not hard to figure out who would be able to run. There's a finite number of Democratic current and former Senators, Governors, and Vice-Presidents (IIRC the last person to run for President without having been one of those things was like... Eisenhower?) out there, and an even smaller number who are scandal-free enough, big enough in the party, charismatic enough, etc to run. So it's really not a hard list to fill out. And, to be honest, almost none of them fill me (as a left-wing Democrat) with any great feelings of joy or hope or desire.
