And honestly, I needed to fix the depression so I could clear my head before I was able to seriously work on my flaws. I couldn't see it at the time, though. And yes, I lost him, because I wasn't able to "fix it" soon enough (but yes, I WAS able to work on those flaws over time and improve greatly in that regard! it can happen!). You are not alone.
(How old are you, if you don't mind my asking?)
