Steven Universe has a lot of "random episodic fluff" episodes before the various plots start kicking in -- BUT the introduction to those various plot things (like some characters and background info) appear in those earlier episodic, er, episodes.

If you're a patient person and like cute characters and pretty animation it's not a bad wait in any way, though.

Disclaimer: I'm not caught up entirely. I've actually never watched the first episode (which I intend to remedy later on).

On TV. I think I'll catch up online (this is the kind of show I want to be in the right mood to watch it, instead of just powering through. That would ruin its magic)
