Stony, even more so when it's Super Family

As a 616 Stony shipper I haaate MCU Stony, and I hate Super Family even more.

OP and I meant to say MCU!Stony specifically.

Super Family grates me because they fuck up Peter Parker in the process, and sometimes Johnny Storm too.

MCU Stony only. It maddens me when people say, "But their history in the comics!" Yes, exactly, that's the problem. RDJ!Tony is barely anything like the character that history refers to anyway.

Yeah, I meant to say MCU!Stony when I posted that. When those fans try the "BUT IN THE COMICS!" I want to role my eyes into the back of my skull. Nothing about them in MCU is comparable to their relationship in the comics.

I was out of MCU fandom for about a year after Avengers dropped because Stony reigned supreme there. I have a feeling I'll be packing up shop and heading for the hills after AoU as well. Fans are already saying shit due to the trailers.

Oh my God, I'll be right there with you. There was this post where people claimed Tony and Steve were doing the 'hero and heroine' poses for the official poster and I swear, I wanted to punch my screen.

That at least can be taken as a joke. No jokes were being made, however, when Cap 2 came out and people actually complained that Tony wasn't in it. Did they really think..?

Which is utterly ironic because he's in for CW and all I ever hear is people screaming about RDJ/Tony being in EVERYTHING.

Well I'm not thrilled, really.

I'm not, either, but I have a feeling this is more of a move to keep Iron Man relevant and in Phase Three more than anything. After IM3, Marvel isn't going to risk a stinkbomb with an 'IM4'.

At least that's the vibe the wood chopping scene in the first trailer gave off...

Haha, I just found out my ex really likes superfamily. I'm not too fond.

Honestly, it's not so much Stony that I hate as it is woobie!Tony that follows it like the plague.

Although I will admit that one of my favorite fics of all time is Stony and superfamily. Though it's a divorce fic, which lends it a certain amount of charm to me. And Steve-centric, which helps.

Ugh, I lovehate that fic. It was so good, but so painful. It wasn't even Steve's relationship that hurt me, but how his relationship with Peter played out. Fuck, that fucking sucked. .-.

Okay...I'll admit I don't much care for Stony but...am I the only one who finds the backlash a little bit...over the top?

I know the shippers can be annoying. But at this point, I find some of the anti-fans just as bad.

Why is it that whenever a group of people get together to talk about something they don't like, someone has to come in saying "But guys the Antis are just as bad!".

Yes, everyone sucks, we get it.

It's just that it seems like pairing criticism so often shifts from the pairing to the fans. And while I like hearing about why something in the media itself might work or not for a person I wish it didn't have to include bashing of huge sections of fans.

Although I do recognize that a lot of Stony fans are annoying as fuck.
