Re: Cheer Up Thread
I had no idea weighted blankets were a thing! All I knew was that covering myself with more/heavier blankets than strictly necessary to have something weighing down on me was very relaxing and helped me fall asleep faster (provided it wasn't a very hot time of the year).

That might be worth reading if you want to look into buying yourself one for sleep or insomnia issues.
Re: Cheer Up Thread
It is possible for those symptoms to lessen over time, right?
For example, as a child, I could not ride merry-go-rounds and play on swing-sets (My worse recurring nightmares involve that sense of "out of control weightless movement" or having to climb stairs and cross bridges that had no safety rails), but I'm okay with swing-sets now.
Although, to this day, I still cannot go up ladders. I can't. I freeze by the third step. I realize I'm barely three feet above ground and I could land safely with very minor bruises even if I lost my balance and fell, but it's like my brain cannot register the difference between 3 and 300 feet. I could be hanging off the ledge of a cliff for all it feels like.
I also could not eat texturized foods (like mermelade with fruit seeds. It felt like I was choking on them), touch certain fabrics or sleep on "scratchy" sheets, but that doesn't bother me now as an adult.
For some reason though, I used to swallow chewing gum and hard candy on accident, but now I can't swallow pills.
Re: Cheer Up Thread
But, given that the brain is a plastic organ and is constantly changing, I would say that it's possible for almost any symptom related to brain function to change over time, either becoming more or less severe.
