I was not a fan of the second film (understatement), but the first film? I could buy that that guy grew into the Kirk of TOS.

(Though, that was before it was explained to me that I was Doing It Wrong because reboot Kirk is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT timeline/universe than "our" Kirk.)

I liked the second film, EXCEPT for Cumberbatch's Khan. I don't know what it was, but I just didn't care for it [especially with the fact that he looks rather feline]

But, While I get the fact that his is a new version of Kirk, I can see him growing into the Kirk we know and love from TOS. But,ere is always road blocks, always detours, and I have faith that Chris Pine can BE that Kirk we love. Is his personification kinda a jerky dudebro with an "i wanna smack you in the face" additude? Yea but aside from various novelizations, and what we've seen in the shows and movies, we don't know a lot about Shatner!Kirk before the show takes place. For all we know, what wasn't covered, he WAS like that. They could have glossed over that part of his history.* Although if he's still kinda like this in another movie or so I'm going to start reconsidering.

*this being said, I've yet to get a novelization I could get into. If anyone has any that they recommend, please, tell me. I have seen all of the episodes of TOS [although it's been a while] and all the movies up to V. [[I'm more of a TNG person myself]]
