I'm sort of baffled by this secret.

Maybe they don't really like Pratchett's writing. Maybe they really like Gaiman's. Maybe they only like the combination of the two. Maybe they just really like the premise/ideas presented. There are lots of reasons for only enjoying one book by an author, especially when it's a collaboration.

People here have a really hard time with the whole "people like different things" concept. I mean, look at this thread: the first comment basically boils down to "only people who don't read like Neil Gaiman," because that person just cannot wrap their head around someone liking something that they don't. And one of the responses to it boils down to "you don't like Gaiman because you have a poor imagination," because that person just cannot wrap their head around someone disliking something that they do.

It's one of the things that really frustrates me about this place. A lot of people here are very self-centered and haven't figured out that their personal taste isn't really all that special or objectively good. So they go around being pricks to people who have different preferences and likes and dislikes.

ayrt

Yeah, I've noticed this. Some even talk a good game, but when it comes to their own likes (or dislikes), suddenly everybody who doesn't like whatever (or does) is just wrong and/or stupid.

Nothing to be baffled about. This forum allows you to comment with both solid arguments and "no, it doesn't because you're stupid!" and that's what makes it wonderfully entertaining at times. <3 F!S!
