It's less that you don't filter, and more that you act like an ass to other commenters. For example, your way of 'arguing' is showing others how you're completely right and they're wrong. I don't think you're a bad person, but I can see how you can make people here annoyed at you. :/

Isn't that what an argument is? After all, if two people are talking and are in agreement of what is right, then there is no argument. Someone has to think the other is wrong for there to be an argument.

I don't think you're a bad person, but I can see how you can make people here annoyed at you. :/

Maybe it'd be more productive to think less in terms of argument, and more in terms of conversation or discourse?

I didn't think of it as an argument. To be honest, I thought of it as educating people. I realize now that that's uh, amazingly condescending of me. I will try to mentally frame it as a conversation or discussion, both of which equalize the participants.

But the thing is that even an outlook of educating people can be fine, because there are times when one really does know more about something. The key I think is having an outlook of compassion, rather than treating it as a failure for the other person not to already know everything.
