Who here has read the latest One Piece chapter? What do you think of the cliff hanger? (Being intentionaly vague to avoid spoilers.) What do you think it will be?

Or is there anything else you would like to talk about? Whatever happened to Nami and the others? Will Luffy's bountry rise again? Are you hoping for the Samurai kid to fall into the ocean and be never seen nor heard from again? (I do.) Will Rebecca ever be allowed to put on clothes?

I'm sure they are fine, Of course it will, that kid can go ahead and die yes. Rebecca knows the peace of her nation depends on her staying dressed like that.

Topic: Thing Law can get the arm back on?

Also, going off the other gears using his rubber body to warp anatomy, I'm going to go with Luffy can actually vulcanize his flesh momentarily to create an effective super-haki? Just throwing things at the wall here.

I think a combination of Leo's sewing and Manberries(?) healing powers will be able to heal Law's arm. Didn't they suggest something like that in the new chapter?

I like that vulcanize theory, tbh. After agility and strength for gear 2 and 3 there's not much that's left, so turning his skin rock-hard seems like the last thing left to do.

I hate Momonosuke and want him to die.

I have a bet going with a friend that Rebecca will get a costume change when this is all over, but that the new outfit will be just as revealing as the chain-mail bikini. We joked about betting money on whether or not Rebecca's new outfit will cover her boobs, but neither wanted to bet on them being covered.

I hate him too. Little brat. I dread the crew going to Wa, I kind of wish they were quit of the samurai entirely.

as for Rebecca...don't forget that all the gladiators are "scantily clad." Sure, the Red Sonja tribute outfit is more sexualized than the men running around in speedos and loincloths, but still. All the gladiators wear as little as possible because there's a weight limit and it's hard to fight in armor, it was stated by Cavendish early-on. I'm sure when everything is over and cleaned up, she'll be wearing a plain dress like her mother used to wear. A plain, cute dress.

My morning read was followed by inarticulate squeeing and cheering. One of the best chapters in the arc so far.

I've been watching the Thriller Bark dvds lately (catching up to purchasing them for my collection) and I'm amazed at the parallels. I expect Gear Fourth to be what Gear Third was back then - likely to have some side effects, probably pretty hard on Luffy's already-trashed body, but so fuckingdamn awesome that it makes Zoro's takedown of Pica look like a slap-fight.

I'm excited. I love everything about Dressrosa. Yes, even Rebecca. But I'm not trying to anticipate too much because I want Oda to tell me the story he wants to tell, I don't want to have preconceived ideas of where I think the story should go so that I can be angry afterward that Oda didn't do what I expected him to do.

The only things I'm sort of hoping/predicting is that Law will be healed by the Tontatta (I expected that as soon as Mancheri's power was revealed), Jinbe will save the Sunny and the rest of the crew from Big Mom, and despite all the fangirl cries neither Law, Sabo, Bartolomeo, Cavendish, nor Bellamy will join the Straw Hats. If anything, Law may place his crew in a long-term alliance with Luffy a la Whitebeard's fleet, and maybe Bellamy will either retire or go hang out with Barty. Though, I will admit to being extremely impressed that Cavendish was the one to decide to protect Law in this chapter. There was a lot of touching moments of hope, grief, and devotion today, and I loved them all.
