I'm the same about podcasted fics, OP.

But I feel that I'm being rude to my friends list just by cringing every time they announce they've podded another fic. I do appreciate the effort and skill that goes into them. I'll just never listen to them.

You sound polite and reasonable in your secret. Best thing is just to say nothing, if possible. It's never nice to have your fun squashed. If asked, I go with "they're just not for me but I appreciate the time and skill involved" which is what you said already.

I'm always vaguely disappointed that the "Unilock" tag on AO3 means a university AU and not something to do with unicorns.

I have no desire to read about Sherlock and unicorns, so I don't know why I care, it's just the first thing that pops into my head every time.

Daft Punk being prepared for a photoshoot in front of a swimming pool (happened to be the best example I had ready, plus it's behind the scenes)

Text: I had a silly dream of becoming a creative director or something in that area so I could make people do funny or strangely cool concept photoshoots.
I’d aim to eventually handle celebrities with active fandoms, so I could make their fans happy or at least make them think “WTF is this photoshoot?”
I kinda sorta missed the best boat to this career-wise, but it’s not 100% impossible yet.

With Season Five [of My Little Pony] starting up, I feel like it's time to admit...
That I don't get Maud's popularity.
Like, at all.
Her rock obsession gets old real fast, and she's kind of a jerk. Yet she's the breakout character of Season 4, and will be coming back this season.
Someone explain her appeal to me. I really want to understand!

Image: Annie's face through various points of the comic. The art keeps evolving in each shot and getting better. One of the faces is marked with a white frame, matching the description in the text.

Text: The "thicker outer lines with thin inner lines" was my favorite point of the comic's art development. I acknowledge that Tom's art has gotten better and more technically competent now, but I no longer enjoy it like I enjoyed it back then. It looked less realistic, but I really liked how the faces looked, especially Annie's. I also greatly miss the mood-setting backgrounds and cool but dark pespective shots from the earliest pages, and how we looked into Annie's thoughts.

But meeting people who think even the less serious ones are brainwashing us wholesome, guileless non-Americans into cultural degeneracy has helped me just laugh some of them off or see them as curious foreign things.

Yeah, she could have been cooler than she was, but it felt like they didn't know what to do with her.

OTOH, if you have a feeder fetish, her storyline was grade-A fap fodder. I mean specific trigger phrases and imagery, to the point that I'm 100% certain someone on the show either has that kink or did SUPERB research.

Eh, I doubt it's just Dave. For one thing I just find it hard they'd all agree to do it if it was just that. It also seems like they've been doing a decent amount of retrospective stuff recently so maybe it's just that time.

& I know that Dave has said stuff to that effect in the past. Don't know how true it is, or whether things have changed recently. Hopefully it'll work out.
