What friendship? They may've come to respect one another over the course of Avengers, but there's no indication whatsoever that they're friends.

I think that's what OP was trying to say. It seemed like they were indicating that they wished that the MCU would focus on the friendship that cap and iron man have in the comics rather than the biggest fight they had in the comics.
