- How great of a character was Frank? Basically the best, right? And what about Bunk? And Kima?
- What'd you think of Lester? Like everyone else, I loved him, but I also think he's secretly one of the most unrealistic characters in the whole series.
- What do you think about the show's broad thematic messages? Particularly as they apply to politics?
Re: The Wire
-Frank was pretty awesome. I hated that he died to save his family. Especially since one of those people was Ziggy (I hated him). I loved Kima and Bunk.
Though, I think out of all the cops my favorite was Carver. His character growth through the series was amazing. I am really glad that Jimmy seemed to have become less of an asshole by the end.
-I enjoyed Lester's character but I can totally see how he is one of the most unrealistic. He is almost like a superhero and doesn't seem to have any major character flaws. But I am glad he ended up with Shardene. :D
-I am not going to lie, I have not thought super hard on the themes. I am going to try and find some reading material OR some podcasts to read up on. The theme that really stuck with me though is the cycle of poverty you see. And that while many people were able to break free of this cycle, some were doomed to be trapped in it. If you have any suggestions on what to read/listen to, that'd be fantastic.
