Every instance of what a 12 step meeting is like (AA, NA, etc) on tv. Inevitably, they have the characters stand a podium and speak. That like literally never happens unless it's a specific speaker meeting. Everyone sits in chairs in a room, no one gets up on a podium, and damn sure not the new members. It's been years since I've been to an AA meeting, but this one always bugs me.

Every time I see it on TV/in movies, it's usually just people sitting on chairs in a circle/semi-circle? Sometimes they'll have members stand up to speak, sometimes not. I can't say I've ever seen anyone using podiums.

I gather that this actually used to happen in some of the more religious-oriented AA-style organizations.

On the other hand, there are also shows like Breaking Bad that do a really good job of depicting group therapy and the assortment of reactions likely to take place in those types of settings.
