For the most part, house parties I've attended tend to be filled with a lot of drinking, and ppl sitting around talking or playing card games. I remember guys being rather loud and the police being called a few times cuz some people are loud, but it's nothing like the films where the music is loud and amazing and drugs are openly passed around, as if someone's house was transformed into a hot night club of sorts.

What tends to throw me off is how fast people get around from one place to another in films and tv shows. I also get annoyed when people don't say "Bye" or "talk to you later" or SOMETHING before hanging up on the phone. Most times they just hang up.

They always show the crazy parties being in the nicest houses!

If we went to someone's party and they were well-off, it was either a very tame party with coasters for our drinks or their parents hired a place for us to trash.

The only party houses we were allowed to be feral in were already like that to begin with.

Yeah. Party houses are the ones where the floorboards are stained from spillage at previous parties, where there's nothing expensive left to break, where folks know how to handle it when a fight breaks out or some drunk pulls a knife, instead of just getting the vapors.
