Headcanon Pearl, Amethyst or Rose as white and watch as the waves of people calling you racist descends upon you.

...They're aliens. Alien rocks, no less. You could make an AU in which they're white, but you can't "headcanon" them as white, because it's already canon that they aren't any human race or ethnicity.

But they have human forms that include features associated with real human races, is the point, I think. Not that they literally are that race.

That said, Pearl looks so clearly white to me I can't even think of what else fans would want you to see her as.

Eh, her features aren't inherently Caucasian. Her skin is chalk-white, which is going to make viewers think of lighter-skinned ethnicities, but if you look up albino people of different races...

Five minutes of poking around Google turned up this woman in the search results for "albino pakistani". You can't look at her and tell me she wouldn't be the world's most natural Pearl cosplayer.

People's headcanon's go against canon all the time. Even if a person is born as a boy they will headcanon them as transmale. Even if a person is in a sexual relationship they will headcanon them as asexual.

People just get lost in their own fantasies.

If it goes against canon, it's not a headcanon, it's an idea for an AU.

No judgment, it's not a better or worse thing to do, just call it what it is.

So VA=POC huh? Katara was voiced by a white woman though, so does that mean she's no longer a WoC and I can make her white? Oh god, Shama was right all along!

Pearl is white. Chalk white. Not Caucasian, European, Anglo-Saxon, etc. Her skin, like all of the Gem's skin, is the color of her gem. None of them track to real world human skin tones.

I mean she's not Caucasian (she's a gem) but she looks pretty damn white to me.
