Needing a sidescrolling platform game that isn't too worried about graphics and story, but can be played to fill in the occasional half hour.

Platform is Xbox1, difficulty level is, well, remember the SNES version of Mario? Pretty much that. I'm not looking to have anything other than a timefiller, if it is going to make me work hard at it then it is too hard. This is for relaxation, not making me more tense. Price is as cheap as possible.

Also something easy for a windows 7 laptop with lowend performance would be nice. Something like Altered Beast, Golden Ax, or maybe Ascendancy for something a little more longwinded.

I'm the sort of gamer that gets the GGers raging about how I not a "real" gamer.

Ah, fuck 'em.

I'm afraid I'm not really up on my XBox1 platformers -- many of them are going to be re-releases of older games. What you may want to do is consider buying a gamepad (Logitech F310 would be a good, relatively inexpensive choice) and then running a SNES or Genesis emulator. Playstation emulation is also quite good these days.

Child of Light is good. I found it very easy but it's beautiful and very relaxing to play.

SA It's also free with Xbox Gold at the moment. Sadly I paid big bucks for it when it was released.
