She and a few other nerdy women get together monthly to drink and talk about a genre (sci-fi, fantasy, historical) romance book. The novels they've read have ranged from shitty to fantastic, but their commentary is pretty fun even if you don't get through that month's pick.

As far as making a difference goes...don't know OP's opinions before, so I can't say. It's watching friends get drunk and talk about fiction, so maybe OP sees her as more of a real person and less a divisive public figure?

I don't get how anyone can hate her. She's so genuine and kind, not to mention adorable as fuck. I don't think she's a very good actor or a great writer, but she makes me smile. Though technically I thought The Guild was very mediocre, it just fills me with all the happy.

Well, I personally thought The Guild found its groove and was awesome from season 3 onwards, but regardless of personal thoughts, there's no denying that it was made with a huge amount of love as well as experience with MMORPGs.

I don't actually dislike her all that much but I really hate her self-insert in Dragon Age (in the same way I really hate Genesis in FF7 Crisis Core).

I didn't like her Dragon Age character either or how it looked like her... but to be totally fair, the Dragon Age team OK'd her for doing the Dragon Age live action miniseries, which obviously has to use real actors... and then how else do you incorporate those characters into a game?

but mostly I have trouble when her acting tries to be anything other than cutesy awkward Sid from The Guild, because every other character she plays has a little of that but when she tries to vary it, it's just weird. Like her DA character is supposed to be really badass, but since it's so obviously Felicia Day it was hard to buy.

Overall though that DLC was awesome.

I have no opinion on her personally but I hate what she represents. As a female gamer, fan, and nerd before all of that was cool I feel like the type of character she plays pushes us back. That cute adorable "gamer-girl" persona makes it harder on the rest of us who just want to have fun and not be treated any different then any other player.

I have a love-hate relationship with her. I find her annoying but I can't place my finger on why exactly. It could simply just be her voice.

That said, she's gorgeous in the pic used. I love that haircut on her!

I'm not a huge fan of her work in particular, but I don't mind her a bit. I have a few friends she reminds me very much of, though, so it makes me uncomfortable when people say she's just putting on a persona.

I used to really like Felicia Day. I watched a few seasons of The Guild and thought she was great. But then after the whole GamerGate thing happened and she was all like "I'm afraid of gamers now!" I kind of want her to go die in a fire.

I find Felicia Day too awkward and nerdy to enjoy watching her stuff - it's the same reason I don't like, say, Nostalgia Critic. I just cringe and cringe. The DLC with the character based on her in DA2 was just one big long cringe... I don't like that they made it look like her as opposed to having her just voice the character. It really pulls you out of the setting and screams FELICIA DAY.

I thought she was cute in Supernatural, though. That role fit her better. I don't think she's a great actor.

I used to like her in The Guild, but then I just saw too much of her (Eureka, Supernatural and internet things) and the name Vaginal Fantasy struck me as kind of crude (sue me, I'm old). So I don't hate her or anything, am just over her.
