I have no opinion on her personally but I hate what she represents. As a female gamer, fan, and nerd before all of that was cool I feel like the type of character she plays pushes us back. That cute adorable "gamer-girl" persona makes it harder on the rest of us who just want to have fun and not be treated any different then any other player.

Psh, you know cute, girly women who also play games don't exist. You get sorted in your first year of school and you gotta be one or the other.

I'm only familiar with her character on Supernatural, but she doesn't come across as a cute adorable gamer girl on there. She is pretty cute though and she's a gamer so...are cute girls not supposed to be nerdy 'cause it will mess it up for everyone else?

Do you think they're playing for reasons other than fun? Aren't you just bringing up the whole (ridiculous) "fake geek girl" thing?

Oh, no, in Supernatural she's just a big writer insert Mary sue that sucks all the monument of the series.

I have no beef with her as a person, but I hate that as an actress she plays the exact same character and everyone hypes the hell out of her when she's .. not really that good.

I'm a gamer and I am cute and adorable. I would prefer not to be treated differently from other players and I believe this is also true of Felicia Day.

It doesn't seem to be a persona; it seems to be who she actually is, and the reason that she writes and plays the parts that she does is because she's long been a gamer, fan, and nerd.

Female gamers come in all stripes. Some of them happen to be cute and adorable, and there's not actually anything wrong with that. The problem is with people who think that only women with certain personality traits are "real" geeks/gamers, and with people who make women jump through hoops to prove their authenticity.
