Maybe he/she is a bnf that's made his/her fame on being an obsessive Tom Baker lover who has started an IRL club of other people who also have overwhelming sexual feelings for the actor. They all meet up and sacrifice goats. Needless to say, it wouldn't go over well if the club found out it all started as a joke and OP is afraid for the safety of his/her pets should the club ever find out, lest one of them become the next sacrifice.

But seriously, "mentioning I was a fan of Baker surrounded me with people who really love Baker and I need fandom protective services please help" sounds pretty plausible. Wordier secrets in the same vein usually mention something like that, at least.

Back before I figured out I was ace, I would gush along with all my friends over this musician or that actor, just so I wouldn't be accused of lying and trying to spoil their fun for admitting I didn't think he was hot. Junior high was sweet.
