(Anonymous) 2015-04-14 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)Regina has more or less stopped doing bad things to other people for several seasons now aside from being dickish to people and throwing temper tantrums because she can't have everything she wants. Yeah, she hasn't really apologized or felt remorse over the awful things she did in the past, but not sure how she can really apologize for all that stuff. She's doing the next best thing and not doing them anymore.
Rumple on the other hand doesn't throw guilt-trippy temper tantrums, but he lies to loved ones, manipulates people, blackmails people, screws innocents over because he needs to for his plan, and puts his interests above everyone else's. He just keeps doing it.
The show definitely wants me to feel sorrier for Regina than she deserves, but I definitely think Rumple is way more reprehensible overall. I don't see it weird if people think Regina deserves a happy ending and Rumple doesn't. Until he makes an effort to be better (which Regina HAS done, so props to her), I don't see why he would.
