40. Okay...

First of all, as previously stated, not everyone's an artist. I myself don't use PBs, but even so, using them is far better than having horribly drawn images or sub-par. Sometimes it's the best someone can do, and locating them can be difficult as is, or so I imagine.

ALSO... on non-OCs...

Dude, it's no easier than RPing an OC. Heck, it's actually harder because you have to base them off of a pre-existing canon, thus making sure you keep their personality, speech, and mannerisms correct. Plus, some fandom characters don't have a solid background, so interpretation has to be added here or there. There are PLENTY who do the job well, especially in strict RPs where apps aren't exactly simple.

And how on earth is it different from fanfiction? There's plenty of badfic, and that's ok? I'm sorry, but I don't see it. If they can write them well in a fic, I don't see how RPing is any different, and likewise, if they suck at fanfic writing, they shouldn't RP that character.

Lastly, I don't see why people would RP your OCs. But neh~

I keep replying with the idea of asking a friend to draw something for you , or write a description!! It's text based RP after all! I personally think even a bad drawing is better than taking some one else's, but that is just me.

I was trying to say that non-OC characters are harder than OC. Too many people don't do them well enough. I was not trying to imply that original characters were easy in any way. I would prefere interpretation be done in fanfiction or on your own, because everyone else has a different interpretation usually.
Fanficiotn does not have to inflict itself on anyone. RPing involves at least two people (I hope) and thus other people may have to deal with any OOCness. I don't have to go and look at someone else's badfic, but I do occasionally have to see horrible RPers because they can't always be avoided.

I agree on writing a badfic means your shouldn't RP a character, but if you must do one, keep it to fanfic so that people have to search for it and doesn't assault random people. Bad characterization is bad no matter the medium.

Other people don't RP my OCs, I only I do. They play their own OCs.
