Yeah, it bothers me too. Especially because a lot of fic writers in my fandom are pretty young like 16-23 and they don't think about people who might get a grudge against them. Some get anon hate for their fics, even those who's fics are pure vanilla and nothing offensive. They wouldn't even have to do much to offend anyone besides maybe shipping someones nOTP.

It sucks because people should be free to write what they want, especially fanfiction. It's just a fun way to relax or provides stress relief, and it's terrible that there are some people out there who would want to ruin their lives because of it.

I've been pissed at people but I just try to block them from my life and ignore them. I'd think you'd have to be a sociopath to feel no guilt at sabotaging someones life over something as harmless as fanfiction. Also what if you get the wrong person? I know there are several people that share the same first and last names in the same general area.
