(Anonymous) 2015-04-15 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)Is this really such a callous affront to the author? The author, who I bet doesn't even speak the language I'm translating it into and will most likely never know this happened. It will not affect their life at all.
As I said before, it would be a waste of their time. I'm sure it would look bad, but what's the point of telling them now? It's already been published, it's a done deal. It wouldn't do anything except please some anons on the internet who want me to get fired, which I don't think would happen, anyway. I'd probably get a slap on the wrist and a frown, and perhaps they'd be less likely to write me a letter of recommendation or something.
