Sometimes it's good to be accountable to someone to keep up your motivation to work out. Having a deadline or a physical fitness test coming up is more likely to be effective at getting someone to stay in shap than simply the desire to be fit.

On the other hand, if you're going to be away this summer maybe it would be best to accept it a bit later.
