But two years old is the best time to be introducing varied foods to a child's diet. If they grow up eating it they're going to be less likely to turn their noses up at it later. :/

Make a pot pie, and serve it with a salad.

OR! My favorite thing ever- make fondue. If you have a slow cooker it's the easiest thing and super fun. Just get a couple of good cheeses (Jarlsberg, Monterey Jack, Gouda, Gruyere all work well) and grate them into a bowl. Toss with a few teaspoons of flour.

Then, add some white wine to the slow cooker and heat it up until simmering to remove most of the alcohol. Grind in some black pepper and add a chopped clove of garlic while this is happening. When it's been simmering for 5 minutes, add your cheese/flour mixture and turn the heat to the lowest setting.

When it is melted, you have cheese fondue.

You can cut up roast chicken, crusty bread, blanched broccoli or cauliflower, different types of sausage, apple slices, olives, raw cherry tomatoes... Anything you like to dip into it.

Fondue sounds like an awesome idea, tbh. It's like grownups playing with their food!

Yesss. And you can have a whole bunch of different little things to dip in it and however many vegetables you want and really who doesn't love a whole bunch of different little things to eat?

Well yeah, she eats all sorts of great adventurous things. The reason I gave for my example is that small nuts are still a choking hazard, not flavor reasons. And there's a difference between a 2 year old that eats a vegetable stew with strong Middle Eastern spices and like vindaloo curry. As I said, "extremely spicy" (which is also a valid concern on my mother's behalf as well).

We could make fondue at my house, but probably not at my sister's. They don't have a basic 6 quart sauce pot, let alone a slow cooker. I am constantly frustrated by the things their kitchen lacks, but I know if I get them things for it 90% of the time they won't use them. :\\\\\\\\
