(Anonymous) 2015-04-18 04:23 am (UTC)(link)Reason I'm wondering is there's one such writer in my small fandom. They appear once a year or so, post a fic (usually a very very good one), then disappear again. It's always irked me ever so slightly, and I just realized it's not so much because they don't leave feedback on other people's fics - it's 'cause they don't take part in anything. So it comes across as a bit ... aloof, maybe? (They never respond to any of the glowing comments people leave on their fics, either, which could feed that impression.)
Of course, neither they nor you are obligated to do anything whatsoever. And you're awesome to write and share decent fics "without strings", so to speak. But this was my reaction, so I'm wondering if it could explain some of the reaction you've had.
