Re: Bloodborne Thread
And I love this game. It might end up one of my all time favorites. The style is fantastic, the enemy design is literally out of this world, I love the weapons and outfits and bosses, I could go on and on.
The first night I played was brutal. I'd never played a Souls game so I didn't realize how little the game would give me in the way of direction. I wandered around Central Yharnam for hours just getting killed, not knowing how to find the boss or level up or what the whole point of it all was. But after reading some tips online I gave it another shot and I've been totally hooked ever since.
I need to start another character, though, because I totally screwed up doing Eileen's quest, and I sent Arianna to the clinic instead of the chapel, but I don't know if I have the guts to try it in a New Game+.
I've been trying Chalice Dungeons so I haven't even beaten the game yet. Last important story thing I did was kill Rom. The Unseen Village is kicking my ass and I'm not sure where to go to fight the boss. The three hunters hiding in the chapel are no fun, either! But the difficulty hasn't turned me off and I barely notice the load times now.
Looking at the games coming out this year, so far this might be my GOTY already too.
Re: Bloodborne Thread
Oh man I realized I'd fucked that up way too late to do anything about it myself. I started a New Game+ and it's really not that bad, but I'm a series veteran. Remember: your character is going to be way more powerful the second time around too. Also, you could always just make a new save and re-start the game in regular mode.
Oh if you've killed Rom but haven't gone back to the clinic, you may still be able to get the best ending >> Idk how much you care about spoilers. I didn't do the Chalice Dungeons until right at the end of the game either, and even then only because the last weapon I needed for the all weapons trophy is in one of them. I have beaten the game now, though.
RE: The unseen village. You need to go the way you couldn't go the last time you were here. Unless you didn't go here in the early game, in which case, try the main street. Or have a good look around you the next time you ride the big elevator.
It's sooooooo goooood. The combat is tight, some of the areas are pants-shitting terrifying, and it's just generally a lot of fun.
Re: Bloodborne Thread
Just after posting that, I went back to the village and found the boss. He didn't exactly waste me, but I did retreat for some level ups. I tried running around the Cathedral Upper Ward but for some reason it is freaking me out more than any other area in the game. All those hooded statues give me the creeps!
I would like to make a new slot, and skew a new character more heavily towards Arcane just for the fun of it (and maybe make a guy, since I did a girl for my first slot).
Re: Bloodborne Thread
Oh man the boss of that area grossed me out so bad. (He more or less identical to one of the bosses in Demon's Souls in how you beat him, though, so I didn't have much trouble. I don't think most people will once they figure him out.)
I might just do that too. I did that in Dark Souls (switched from pure melee to a spell-caster) and it was really rewarding. It was like playing a different game entirely. Idk if that'll really pan out in Bloodborne though, because it's more like different specializations than different classes.
