Yeah it was a joke, obviously. Seriously though I am looking forward to the movie because there hasn't been a movie in that perspective for a long time, and I am looking forward to the HIStK like scenes.

I thought we'd all get a laugh out of it, but oh well, it's gone now.

It's okay, the joke was meant to be that this is a super-hyped movie so most people are going to realize it's not Honey I Shrunk The Kids... though I will jokingly call it Honey I Shrunk the Superhero.

But yeah, and I say this as a superhero comic fan, I'm looking forward to stuff like riding a Toy Thomas train as much as the fisticuffs.

Whenever a secret is removed from the main post for being a repeat or not fandom or something, I always click the link in the frozen comment thead just to see what it was. Now you've started removing them from those? Why? If you aren't going to edit the failbar to put them in there, and they're the kind of thing that would go there (as opposed to things like personal attacks which only get mentioned and not linked to even if they're caught before the post goes up), then all you're doing by editing those threads is making people like me who check the failbar be unable to satisfy our curiosity.

If they're accidental (as in nf or too big or something), then they do go there.

If they're trolly ones, giving them an audience of people who react the way they want is only feeding them and encouraging more.

I've never seen you edit the post to add links to the failbar if the secret is caught after the post goes up. In this case, it looks like #6 was a "take it to comments" and #7 was assumed to be a troll but wasn't. So I'm confused about why you removed the links to those in their respective comment threads.

6 wasn't a take it to comments, it was a secret pretending to be a real one that only referenced previous threads. It wasn't about an actual secret, it was purely mocking the users who were confused in said previous thread.

7 was a secret about a movie that doesn't exist (which OP later on said was a joke and not intended to confuse people, though I saw 2 anons already confused in the thread), which doesn't make it any more about any existing movie.

If it's instances like that (mocking other users and/or referencing fake things that don't exist), yeah, I'm going to delete them.

Ah. Well I understand the former at least. The latter I still regret missing because that kind of thing is funny to me.

It was an image of Ant Man with text on top of it saying something about a Honey We Shrunk the Kids remake or something like that. I didn't look too closely at the image to see if it was relevant or not before posting it (my fault, it's obviously not, in retrospect).

The thing is if it's not actually true, even if OP meant it as a joke, there are people who'd believe the text. All fun intended or not, I'd rather keep the whole fake news (even as a joke) thing off of FS. I'd hate to see someone actually excited about something they like only to find it's fake and ha ha someone tricked them into believing it. So this is more about "no fake news please" than "no jokes"

...not that I think we have any huge fans of Honey We Shrunk the Kids, but that'd also extend to stuff like "I was so sad (celebrity) died" when they didn't, etc. I hope you get what I mean!

It wasn't mocking anyone, it was a joke because those are mostly my real thoughts about Outlander (except for the Italians), but I wouldn't have thought of making them into a secret if it hadn't been for the one about the Mustketeers.
