River is close enough. I don't know if people actually name people that, but I think it could work. And bonus named after two awesome characters.

Aurora is kind of a real name. For some reason I really love it.

Kahlan might be a stretch. I love the name. I know someone named that. But it is still kind of too fantasy.

You don't remember River Phoenix?

The name rose a lot in popularity around the early 90's, and again around the time of his death.

I would totally name a daughter after the goddess of the dawn. New light, new hope, all that. It's a good, sunshiny sort of name.

I have no intention of having children, but if I ever did have a daughter I'd probably name her that. I really love the name for some reason. My on personal fantasy OC for my massive crossover fantasy is named that.

Aurora has been a given name for centuries, so that's definitely a real name.

Aurora is beautiful but I have trouble saying it out loud. I think it's the two "r" sounds near each other, it's a workout for my mouth and I'd hate to have yell it repeatedly at my kid. lol

My maternal grandmother's name was Aurora. It's definitely a real name, just not common right now.

My cousin named her son River. People do name their kids that!
