They just had Star Wars Celebration but I think now that that's over, it's likely going to die down again for a few more months. If not, then I'm with you. They'll probably overhype themselves.

That said, I felt like it was nerd nirvana this weekend with the new F4 trailer, BvS trailer, SW trailer, JW trailer - so much good stuff coming out.

And no doubt Avengers will blow everything else out of the water next week, and that's what everyone will be talking about.

I don't think so. I think Disney is waiting for the perfect time to DUN DUN DUN release the ORIGINAL movies on bluray and digital.

Yeah, there has been a shit ton of trailers out (some better than others). I can't wait for a lot of those movies.

But Disney also owns Avengers; they wouldn't want to get in the way of their own products.

I think worrying about when the originals come out is perhaps taking your current irritation too far. They just released the current movies to digital and they've been intransigent on the issue up until now. I have no doubt that they will do so at some time but I don't think it's anything you'll need to be worried about this year. :)

I imagine they would release them like two months before the new movie. I think they know that fans would buy an original version of the films in a heartbeat.

Is this new Star Wars going to be a trilogy? You seem knowledgeable?

Actually, my brother's the big Star Wars buff. He tells me it is a trilogy and they're going to release them every other year. In the off-years, they're releasing these stand-alone Star Wars movies (like they just dropped the name of the one that comes out next year: Rogue One). These are supposed to feature other Star Wars stories but not deal with the main story-arc.

So, the one next year is set right before New Hope and features a bunch of rebels stealing the plans for the Death Star. My brother says the other ones are supposed to feature Han when he was younger, and Yoda and/or Boba Fett. Not sure how accurate any of this is but it's probably as accurate as any SW geek is right now.

I don't I would like the true originals anymore. I like ost of the '97 additions, bar one: The Han Shot Second thing. Sorry, he shot first. Also, that stupid thing they did after RotS came out where they added in Young Anakin at the end of RotJ.

Bar those two things, I like the extras.

Their already out on On Demand digital.

Not the original ones with none of the digital changes Lucas made.

I gotta be honest, if there's one thing Star Wars and its fandom are good at, it's over-hyping itself.

Between the new movie, new season of 'Rebels', and Battlefront III? Yeah, the next few months are gonna be, uh, something else. Whether or not that's a good/bad thing, you decide.
