Re: Things You Are Sick of Hearing About

I'm sick of how people in my fandom tiptoe around anything that could possibly bring negativity or wank. Like, I want to vent about the stuff that bugs me. I have never said to anyone that they can't enjoy it. But I shouldn't feel like I can't rage about shit I find stupid just because you don't want to hear anything negative.

And I want to be able to do something like start a thread to hear what other people thought was the worst scene in a movie; who cares if that ends up starting a fight? Maybe some debate would actually be a good thing.

I don't know your thoughts on the site, but reddit might be good for that? I expect you could find a subreddit for it. Or start a "complaining about your media" thread on here?

I don't really like all out fights but I agree that we should be able to vent and debate and I really hate the attitude that this makes someone a "hater" or that they should stay out of fandom discussions.

I like to critique and I like to rant, for me that is a part of enjoying fandom. Why should I have to censor myself because people are hypersensitive about FICTIONAL work?

Even worse, I hate when people start throwing insults around, we should all be able to discuss fictional things without insulting real people. Just because I think an episode is a piece of shit and you like it, it doesn't mean we need to be at odds with each other. It's not that big of a deal and fandom acts like insulting a tv show/movie/book is the worst thing you could do to a person.
