I couldn't get into SU because I found Steven too obnoxious and everything else just boring. A lot of people have recommended it to me because it references things I like, but it's not nearly as good as the things it references (for one example, it is no Utena that's for damn sure.)

The fandom is getting really irritating too, it's full of wank and it's fucking everywhere right now.

It shouldn't surprise me since Adventure Time did an Evangelion ref, but I am. How exactly did they ref Utena?

Steven drew a sword out of Lion. I've never seen Utena, so I may have missed other references. Check out the tv tropes shoutout page if you want to see if there is any more.
