He is always going to be Gabe the toe sucker to me. No idea what season you are talking about.

He's on a (great) show called Haven! He plays the (lovable rogue type) character Duke Crocker. I haven't seen any of season five yet, but the other seasons range from decent to excellent.

I admit I am surprised that show is still going.

Have you watched it? Was it not for you?

I actually adored the first season and though the show has an off season now and then, the cast is always great. Some of the 'troubles of the week' stories are damn good too. (The one with Nolan North for instance.)

IIRC this current season is the final season, but the show has had a good run.

Sort of? The awkward, probably-pretentious way I've been putting it in discussions is that I've enjoyed it intellectually, but not emotionally. There have been some twists and reveals that have made me go, "Oh, that's clever; what a cool way to have gone with that," but it's not resonating with me in that "God, I love everyone involved with this show" way that previous seasons have. I also feel a little like my opinion on it is in limbo until we get the second half.

Text: There’s a lot to dislike about the current season.

But what bugs me the most is how it messed up my headcanons about Duke’s mom.

I saw this secret and had to hurry to check if season 6 had started.

Season 5 ended here in the beginning of December. Season 5 was... a little stranger than usual, which given the usual, was quite something. Sometimes I'm quite sure that shows that have big mysterious questions (Lost, Twin Peaks, Haven, etc.) actually shouldn't answer all that many of them - what viewers come up with to explain them can make more sense or be more interesting than the canon explanation.

That said, what Duke said about his mother felt like it fit, even if it was a mundane sort of tragic.

What we've gotten so far is technically only the first half of season 5. The thirteen episodes scheduled to air probably in the fall are season 5 part 2. (As I understand it, it's a contract issue where the cast/crew automatically have to get paid more if the show goes past five seasons.)

And yeah, I agree that it fits; I just liked my theories better. :)

All I could think when I saw that picture was "wow, that guy really looks like Littlefinger from Game of Thrones."
