Yeah, Surma was the more etheric one! I think people are saying it because they think the jagged lines on today's page echo the weird bone things from Divine. Personally, I just thought they were action lines of sort to show her emotional state.

I totally feel you on that, though. Before Anthony showed up, I was honestly kind of rooting for him to be a complex but likable character. What we saw of him in flashbacks really resonated with me. If this is really him I don't know that he can make up for what he's doing, even if it is a test or he has some noble reason for doing it. Annie's reactions at this point just too closely mirror those of an abuse victim for me to be okay with Anthony anymore.
