Holy shit why would they leave something like that untreated? I'm sorry you had to go through that. Don't stay with them if they're not actually helping you. I recently got a new doctor and I feel so much calmer about my health issues, because I know that if I need a referral/medication/more tests, she's going to just make it happen. No more "wait and see".

My previous doctor started out fine, but the more I kept coming back, the more she insisted I didn't need to be there and I was fine. It felt like she was taking my poor health personally? Like I was telling her it was her fault or something. I was getting worse waiting for her to decide to treat me.

I ended up asking someone else with an autoimmune problem who they went to and if they were happy with the care they were getting, and booked an appointment the next day.

I have no idea why I didn't do this sooner. We don't need crap doctors on top of feeling like crap, anon.

I feel like my PCP is really callous and uncaring, thus she puts her patients problems off. The person I live with goes to her too, and she pulled some shit almost like your old one. Roommate is having a health problem, I have same health problem so I knew what it was. PCP acted like I was a deranged person for suggesting my roommate had my health problem and seemed to take it personal. Just got test results back, and I was right but PCP refuses to diagnose and says the levels aren't high enough to be diagnosed yet.

Sad thing is I have asked other people I've met in this health care network and they all really hate their doctors. I've also tried looking on my own through healthgrades and like sites and can't find anyone with a decent review.

That's not a good situation. I hope you have more luck in the future.

Yeah, even when patients self-diagnose, I think doctors should still take their concerns seriously. I know there are people who might be trying to get drugs or attention, but what about the ones who just genuinely want answers and proper treatment?

I wish they had a better system for patient reviews. I know there are privacy issues, but nobody deserves to be stuck with bad medical care.
