Re: What hobby do you want to start?

I really want to pick up a fitness related hobby, as weird as that sounds. Optimally some kind of dance. Not Zumba but an actual type like jazz, ballroom, tap, etc. Or maybe a sport like basket ball, tennis, volleyball.

But I'm so uncoordinated and still out of shape, so I keep putting it off. I'm also not a very good team player, or group activities class type so that keeps me from doing it.

I took my mom to zumba for a few months, to support her, and I have to say that it's actually probably a great starting point. Since it's so popular right now, the classes tend to have loads of people who are out of shape and completely new to dancing. It is kind of a cliche class now, but it's actually super fun because of the upbeat music, and a fantastic workout. So I just mean, as sort of "middle class out of shape Mom" as Zumba sounds, I think it's probably a great starting point for anyone who wants to get into shape a little, especially if you want to get into dance. I've been to two separate classes and both of them were really friendly, chill atmospheres, with the teacher doing the dance in the front and everyone following the best they can (which is not optimal learning but great if you're shy about your ability).

Maybe I will try it then. If anything it will be a good experience to see if I can get to a coordinated enough level to take dancing classes.
