No reason you couldn't do this without specifying why. Tons of people want to learn archery after The Hunger Games and the rest of it is good for emergencies, as you said, or camping. First aid is also very practical.

Individually each interest isn't too bad. Though I also think it would be a waste of money if nothingever happens. I guess I would have to continously update my food and eatthe older stuff.

Well, maybe the food/supplies cache might be, but having a unique skill is a good thing in general. You never know when it might be helpful.

Or if your car breaks down on a lonely stretch of road, or if there's a major power outage in your neighborhood in the middle of winter, or if there's an accident and someone needs medical attention. :)
