He'll certainly be better remembered in general.

Probably not as a Shakespearean specifically, but there are perhaps a few more people paying attention to massive blockbuster film franchises than there are to Shakespearean theater, these days.

You're absolutely right. I think it's probably at the center of his reputation, but no, you're right, there's definitely more to it than that.
