It's been awhile since I had one, but I fairly sure you can make certain things on there available for certain people. IE You can have it public, for your friends, or private. I believe it's in home > settings, then you have to go through different things to find the different sections. There's a diary section, etc.

Also from experience I found MFP's activity thing to be way off when I had an account. I was getting very different values from it compared to my Polar fitness tracker thingy I have. I'd trust your fitbit and separately monitor it through there website or software. So yeah, use MFP for food monitoring because there's is the easiest I've found. But use fitbit for monitoring your activity.
