Protein. Protein protein protein. Two tablespoons of natural peanut butter in your oatmeal in the morning, 2oz cheese at lunch (if you're lactose-intolerant, find a low-lactose variety like Swiss), red meat for dinner. Basically, add one extra protein source to every meal, and you should start to feel better. Those meal replacements are 99% sugar, BTW, and are basically garbage.

I agree that a lot of those meal replacement bars and shakes are super sugary and carb loaded, but there are some shakes that are not. Personally I like Atkins protein shakes as they only have 1 grams of sugar generally (each flavors varies), and since it only has 15 grams of protein so it doesn't have that overly nauseating taste that most protein shakes have. If your looking for something with less calories and no sugar there is EAS advantage edge carb control shakes. I generally don't like them because they have no taste to me, and taste like an OTT protein shake since they have 17 grams of protein. But they have no sugar, 3 grams of carbs, and are only 100 cals.

I also agree with the PB and cheese, but red meat? I personally wouldn't take the risk introducing it into my diet on the regular.

AYRT

Re: the red meat: I forgot to add OP, no more than 6oz, and try to get free-range/small farm/ethically raised, if you can. Depending where you live, this might get pricey, which is why you would not want to do it every meal.
