I'll do a top five*! Picking THE ONE is hard for me. Also, gamers still love lists, right? They breathe that stuff.

  1. New Super Mario Bros. (Wii) Playing that game in full four-player mode is the best. Especially if most of you are terrible or ascended trolls who can fail through together till the end of the game. Very shouty experience ("I'm helping you :)" "GET AWAY FROM ME.")
  2. Uniracers (SNES) I'm so glad my dad bought this. you can spend forever in the infinite mode trying to do as many "tricks" with your sentient unicycle. I remember having romantic feelings toward the rival known as "Sylvia", a silvery unicycle <:|a They had such cute victory and losing animations, plus the music makes you feel like the king of uniracing
  3. Portal 1 and 2(PC/PS3) Besides the AHA moments when you figure out a puzzle, which might make it less replayable if you live for that, it's just such a joy. The first one is just the right length and almost just pure gameplay, and the second one is that with a great story on top. And the co-op is also beautiful (and shouty if you're in the same room).
  4. Cave Story (everrrrythiiiing iirc?) It's a Metroidy Mega Man like with catchy tunes, but more importantly it's just fun to shoot everything and use all the special guns (or not SPOILERS EH? EH?). The bosses can make you tear your hair out, but they're also ridiculous fun. Def recommend the free PC version (although the Steam one is also great and offers the HDified redone graphics and music. Original music track is better imo—).
  5. VVVVVV (also everything. but go PC)

*ETA. uh actually more of a top five as in the first five games I could think of off the top of my head

Absolutely agree on Portal; those are delightful games and you rarely see better writing or level design.

I don't own a Wii so I haven't played New Super Mario Bros. (though google tells me it's available on DS too? I need it), but Mario 64 is one of my favorites so I feel you on this.

...And I have never ever heard of Uniracers and am kind of impressed (and confused) that someone had this idea.
