Katamari Damacy and its sequels. The gameplay itself is simple and intuitive, the "plot" and characters are absolutely stupid and hilarious, and there's just something so very delightful about rolling a ball of junk around a city, running screaming people down to add them into said ball, and growing it larger and larger until you're picking up entire BUILDINGS FULL OF PEOPLE SCREAMING. And dinosaurs. And giant robots fighting Godzilla type monsters. And so on. And since the stages mostly have time limits, you can just pop in for a level or two if you want, then go back to whatever you're supposed to be doing, so it's good for the casual gamer as well as those of us who are cool with hours-long marathon gaming sessions. :D

This seems to be a popular answer! I'm not surprised to see this or Portal mentioned multiple times; they're unique games with a fun feel.
