I laughed so freaking hard when I read Renner's "apology" because I could practically hear the exasperation and sarcasm.

It was the perfect "sorry you're so offended" non-apology.

It was kinda pathetic. Look, if you don't want to apologize for something then don't apologize just keep quiet. If you do apologize, make it a proper one even if you don't believe in it because then people will think you are classy for giving a decent apology. Giving a half hearted "sorry you were offended" type just makes you look like an idiot. People will talk about a dumb nonpology more than they will about the original remark. Do it right, or don't do it at all.

I appreciate Renner's statement for being more sincere than Evans' polished PR hoop-jumping, anyway. "We were tired and bored, it was dumb and mean so it made us laugh. Sorry you got your panties in a wad, nerds."
