Background: A passive house diagram.

Text: I don’t understand why I’ve been so passive all my years in fandom. 90% of the time I don’t eagerly participate in things, yeah.

But in fandom, a lot of my usual barriers aren’t there. I don’t have to use my RL identity, or be in all my fandoms under the same name. I’ve always admired, not judged the hell out of, people who hone their skills through fanwork. And I still wouldn’t take on something like being a mod, if I wasn’t sure I could handle it. It seems like the only reason is laziness.

My contributions to fandom are few, far-between, and of mediocre quality. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be a BNF. But then I think about how much I enjoy minding my own business, then go skulking back into the dredges of anonymity.
