Honestly, if you're already an entitled asshole, and you punch someone, people are more likely to think it's BECAUSE you'red an entitled asshole - whether justified or not.

Also, really, what is this strange type of diabetes that makes you punch people - because I never heard of it?

I'm not even saying there couldn't have been mitigating circumstances - you just seem a bit too eager to come up with them.

Well, whacky blood sugar levels can cause rather severe mood swings. A good friend of mine starts acting like the biggest asshole in the world when his blood sugar drops to the point where "check your blood sugar" has become a euphemism for "back off or fuck off, you're out of line". He's the sweetest person otherwise and would never become violent, though. Still, I could imagine a more volatile and aggressive person than him becoming violent when their blood sugar drops.

Not that diabetes induced mood swings excuse violence. And is Clarkson even diabetic?

My mom's diabetic, and yeah she can get cranky, but she's never punched me in the face.

And no idea if he is.

DA

Apparently there were mitigaing circumstances:

It seems weird that it only came out in the past week or so though. If this was the case, you'd have thought he'd have explained that immediately and most people would probably have seen it in a more sympathetic light.

Well, fair enough.

I think most people probably won't say that because it makes them feel vulnerable?

I wouldn't have. Cancer is scary and people have a right to be frightened and upset. But that doesn't give you a pass for hitting people because you can't get a steak.
